Michael Lusk
Michael Lusk isn’t a Texas cowboy, but you wouldn’t know that from his new album, Terlingua. This album has a lot of Texas in it, and a lot of cowboy in it. Produced by Denny Martin, Terlingua Mike Lusk’s versatility in story songs like New Sheriff In Town or A Country Song, the Buddy Holly-esque Long As I, and the album’s title track about a refugee who still lives in west Texas’ most famous ghost town. Mike Lusk’s soulful voice makes Texas — and the other places on this record — sound sometimes fun, sometimes lonely, sometimes exciting, and sometimes sad.
